I am sure you are all aware that we have been suffering endless issues with the mailing list. People with yahoo or gmail accounts are being bounced on a daily basis and so we are never entirely sure if everyone is receiving posts at the same time. Even those not being unsubscribed are finding rather alarming delays in posts arriving and posts arriving in the wrong order (or even not all arriving at all). So some action needs to be taken. It is time to bite the bullet and admit that the old Mailman list is broken and unable to facilitate a role-playing game any more. 
 
This is a very sad state of affairs for me but if we do not take action soon the game will die. And so, with heavy heart, I have put in motion steps to move to a new list. I have set up a gmail list and have sent all of you invitations to join that list. You have probably already seen the first step in this scheme hitting your inbox. I apologies if you receive this mail more than once but I sent it to tye list and to each subscribed email address individually to ensure everyone receives this message.
 
This isn't to say that the move is definite, maybe we can find the problem witht he old list and sort it out. But in the meantime I have taken the first steps to building a new list. Much as I wanted to keep using the current list, and the reasons are many, it's just not possible. Similarly, though I have been offered by a very kind gentleman to have the list hosted elsewhere, I get the feeling its the actual mailman software at fault so we really do need to find a completely new message list. 
 
We won't move right away, but if I can use that list to send posts to all the people on yahoo (and some gmail) accounts that mailman is bouncing on a daily basis, we can all follow the game and nobody is denied access due to technological issues. As we all slowly join the new list we will still want to test it fully before abandoning the old one entirely. 
 
Anyone who is using a hotmail account to access Sodium Noir, give up now. get a Yahoo or a gmail account. mail me your new account and I'll invite you to the new list.
