[Sodium_noir] At the Carousel

To the bully brow beat... Ariñe - 7 + 7 + 3 + 9 + 7 + 9 + 10 + 8  = 7

so... I might have to have you roll for me just to prove I'm not making these up to better serve my own interests! (born under a lucky star or so I have been told)

  ROUND 4

  Ricky is on Kasterborous like filth on the Gotham River. The diminuative Redcap seemed surprise as his success but was equally able to take quick advantage as he threw his legs over the prone Kasterborous. As Ricky leans in to further bind his wings, Kast makes the simple, expedient move of rapidly lifting his right leg, kicking his assailant in the crotch as hard as he can. With his aforementioned sharp talons.Ricky seemed too intent on tying knots and performing a Bunk to see it coming and the blow knocks the wind out of him. Kasterborous feels the static tingle of gathering Glamour disispate as the Redcap lets out a lungful of stale meaty air and pitches forward, bashing his teeth on Kast's. Ricky and Kasterborous are not face to face, the bonds are loose and can br broken out of in a single turn. 

  Ariñe couldn't handle it anymore. She wasn't made to wait. She was made to act, somehow, in some way, to do something and something quick.  The energy had been building in her. She had been amazingly still, calm waters running deep and all that at first. But now... now it was different. She dashed over to the stall with darts, pausing for just one brief moment so that she might concentrat on what she did next, in case she needed the help. her eyes darted from side to side and then she leaped over and instantly fell under the stall's front, hidding. She stayed below the bar of the stall and reached up quickly to grab as many darts as she could to pull them back down below. 

  The yell seems to snap the Ghoulies out of thier shock and they begin to act, sumoning up Bunks mostly but the Corpse suddenly leaps towards Danny and the crushed Redcaps. His body seeming to distort as he flies through the air, becoming a shadowy splash of liquid that strikes the brawling trio and brings them down from a combination of buffet and slippery surfaces.

  Oswald -  5 + 9 + 4 + 5 Success Count =  4 (lost move due to knockdown)
  Bill -  9 + 1 + 1 + 4 + 8 + 9 Success Count =  2 (lost move due to knockdown)
  Danny's initiative -  3 + 3 + 1 + 8 Success Count =  0 (lost move due to knockdown)


  Nyx's yell registered in Ariñe but made no difference. She was pure instinct now, the animal was fully released. She had to be that way now. She had no training. Instinct was all she had and she had plenty. Her movements were animal and stronge. She had a plan, though it was more action then thought. She did acctually care a bit for these guys, most of them anyway. She lept out of the stall and immediately found the dark between that and the next one. 


  Quaid's flames go out. As they do he snarls a bitter command to everyone within earshot. His voice has the tremor of a jungle beast and carries far. He calls upon the Dreaming itself to lemd his words the terror at the cold heart of the Redcap Dream. [Using his Bully Browbeat birthright on everyone]

  "STOP fucking around or I'll rip her arms off and beat her to death with the soggy ends!" he continues to apply presure (and thus stun damage) to Nyx's arms. She takes a further 2 damage.

  [Manipulation 4 + Intimidation 4, difficulty 4.  10 + 8 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 5 + 6 + 1 - Success Count =  6. All sentient characters (you lot) need to make a Willpower roll at the difficulty of Quiad's Willpower of 7 and beat his score, so 7 successes needed or you sucumb to his intimidation.]

  The Corpse was in full flight and couldn't prevent his attack if he had wanted to. He hits Danny and the two Redcap's pinned in his arms hard and they all go down like the proverbial sack of whatsit! The Corpse, still in his Puddle form, slids off the mess of arms and legs.



  Ariñe gave an involuntary shiver as the powers of the dreaming and one kith's rights pased over here. But she kept going, what did she care about that idiot. She may have fucked some important pathways up here. Sometimes you get what you deserve. She was careful to hold her actions though. She wanted to let things play out before acting. She was waiting in the darkness for the time to act. She wouldn't put it past Quaid that he was telling the truth but.. there was only one way to find out and besides what did she care? Survival... lots of things have been said about survival and she had to bet with Darwin on many things. This might be one of them. 



  The rest of the Groovy Ghoulies, Thomas and Max at least, pause. Too frightened by Quaid's words and the complete belief that he means what he says, to finish thier Cantrip. But Mary maintains her composure, even though she appears terrified to anyone that catches her eyes. 

  Suddenly Nyx feels her limbs filled with a cold breeze of Glamour, her sinews toughen like water into ice. [You gain two health levels from mary's Oakenshield cantrip, you are on the same damage but its now counts down from 9 health levels rather than 7, so you are only mauled at -2 to dice rolls now with a total of 7 damage].

  OOC - So everybody needs to make that Willpower roll. Or get me to make it for them. As Sachiko and Kasterborous are having me make those rolls for them, I went ahead and did so. 
  Sachiko - 9 + 10 + 3 + 9 + 10 Success Count =  4 - failed
  Kasterborous - 8 + 7 + 4 + 6 Success Count =  2 - failed

  ROUND 6 (next round)

  Ariñe, darts in hand, continued to move as if life depended on this meal. The drought had come, everything had starved to death or already been killed and now... pray was in sight. This beautiful, soft creature had become... well... she was more like redcap then pooka or satyr at this point but when fighting the nightmare... sometimes you had to become one yourself. There was no more time for waiting. No more time for talk. She moved through whatever shadow may be, darting in and out, until she was right next to Danny with his arms around Bill and Ed. 

  Chicanery - 7 + 6 + 9 + 2 = 4
  Initiative - 7 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 3 + 6 = 4

  ((((OOC: so all of that was a bunk for fuddle. She wanted to get as close to Danny as possible without him seeing her before she uses the darts. However, I'm assuming that might take until the end of next round or even the next? Wha'd  ya' think Spikey? And what's the difficulty and all that? ))))) 

  It is going to take three rounds minimum, but that means the darting through shadows playing huntress is a two point Bunk rather than just a one pointer. Difficulty on the Fuddle roll, when it comes (gotta let round 6 play out yet) will be - 5 (Danny's banality of 5 + 4 - 2 for the Bunk = 7) unless you wish to spend Glamour to lower it. so thats Chicanery 1 with the Realm of Fae 1. Roll of Manipualtion + Fae against difficulty of 5. 

  Of course, if you don't make the Willpower roll to resist Quaid's intimidation ...
