The Spirit(s) Attacks with their/its powers but fails to effect either Garou. 

Nez will defend herself, but she's primarily watching- looking to see
how/if Korben's attack affects the Banes, if there's a pattern in the
way the Banes act, or anything else that strikes her as important.

The claws of Korben have left great red wealds through the sludgelike collection of spirits, severely harming them / it. The entire collective appears to react as one each time it is struck.
