Eva Harrington smiles, a little stiffly. Aurora's philosophical  
thought seems to have snagged at an exposed nerve

"We are all headed for the same destination, my dear, but some of us  
are due to arrive there sooner rather than later." Mrs Harrington  
sighs. "On some days I can almost see the twinkle in the Grim  
Reaper's eye - the old buzzard has been sharpening his scythe for me  
for a while now. Yes, I do believe my reckoning approaches. All good  
parties come to an end and soon, it will be time to pay my shot and  
go." The old lady absently smoothes one wrinkled, much ringed hand  
down her exquisite gown, delicately twitching it's folds into place,   
"Then it  will be down to St Bridget and Bellamy, bless the boy, to  
intercede with the Almighty - quibble over my bill?" Eva laughs  
softly but something about the tone grates. Despite her light words,  
Aurora can sense an undercurrent of fear threading through the old  
woman's voice.

Mrs Harrington abruptly snaps open her evening bag, fishes inside and  
draws out a card. She hands it to Aurora. It is beautifully engraved  
in curling deco script - Eva Harrington-Smythe, President of the  
Harrington Charity Trust.

"In case you or your friend should find other items left behind from  
an age all but dead," she says.
